Welcome to my web site, where I'm pleased to announce the publication of the paperback edition of my book, The Tyranny of Dead Ideas: Letting Go Of The Old Ways Of Thinking To Unleash A New Prosperity.
Updated to reflect the rollercoaster of the last year, the book's new preface asks: What if the worst of the Great Recession is past, but we can't fix the economy's deeper long-term problems because we're in the grip of Dead Ideas? That's the predicament we find ourselves in more than a year after the mortgage and financial meltdown brought the American economy to the brink. Despite some promising steps by President Barack Obama in his first year in office, there is no avoiding the truth: America's economic future is at risk because we remain trapped in old ways of thinking. Unless enough of us open our minds, raise our voices, and demand more from our leaders, we will emerge from the current crisis having avoided something worse, but also having failed to renew American prosperity. This doesn't have to be the case. America doesn't have to settle for economic stagnation and the loss of global competitiveness when a better future is just a few fresh ideas away. But the battle to fix the economy starts inside our heads. You can learn more about the book and see the press coverage here. On the site you'll also find my recent columns and articles, some old favorite writings, and other fun things I've written, including some children's poetry (that's right, children's poetryhave a look!). You can also check out the weekly radio show I host, Left Right & Center, as well. Please do sign up to get my new writings as they appear. And if you have ideas for things I should be writing about or talking about on Left Right & Center, let me know. I hope you'll agree that the ideas you'll find here can help us fix the country while amusing and entertaining you to boot. After all, if we can't have a little fun while we're saving American capitalism, what's the point? Thanks for stopping by. Now start exploding those Dead Ideas... |
